March 2026
Congratulations to Clara Hennings for her outstanding Cambridge Learner Award, achieving the highest mark in the world in June 2025 in IGCSE Italian as a foreign language.
We do not teach Italian at Skipper Clement, so it is impressive that Clara taught herself an extra subject while still managing a full school programme.
December 2025
New buildings
I am delighted to say that our plans for a new building are becoming a reality with help and support from Aalborg Kommune, Centrica, Sparnord Fonden, Sparekassen Danmark and Liftra.
All going well, work should start in January and the building is due to be ready in Spring 2027.
In addition to a new hall, art, music, junior science rooms and a teaching kitchen, there will be 6 new classrooms for the international department. This will allow for the continued growth of our second line of classes.
Exciting times!!
Artifical Intelligence at schooI
On Friday 21 September, all employees at Skipper Clement attended an INSET training day led by Lise Lystlund from Dansk Teknologisk Institute. We learnt about AI, with a view to adapting teaching practice to take account of its amazing potential while gaining awareness of how to manage its challenges.
Cambridge Certificates
We still hold unclaimed Cambridge certificates in our school office and any past student who did not already collect, is welcome to do so during normal office hours 8.00 to 15.30.
INTA 25 years!
Next year 2026, is the 25th year anniversary of the start of the international department in Aalborg. We are celebrating on Monday 22 June 2026, and if you are a past student or teacher and want to attend, you are welcome to contact Jenny on jrt@skipper-clement-skolen.dk.
Plans for the day are not yet finalised, but we expect it to be a super celebration and look forward to seeing some old alumni and teachers 🙂
Kind regards,
Jenny
